WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION
Are you OK? Video campaign for the WHO
A campaign to combat depression in China was launched by the World Health Organization. The initiative was developed in a country where over 54 million people are affected by depression, yet addressing mental health issues remains particularly challenging due to deep-rooted cultural stigmas. In Chinese society, mental health struggles are often seen as a sign of personal weakness. As a result, many people avoid seeking help out of fear of judgment, shame, or "losing face," making open discussions about depression difficult.
The campaign featured a video shared across social media, reaching millions of viewers in China. To complement the online effort, a printed photography project was also developed, further raising awareness and encouraging conversation about mental health and the importance of seeking support.
CORIS
At CoRIS, as the Digital Communications Officer
As the Social Media Strategist for CORIS (Cohorte Científica de VIH), a scientific cohort dedicated to advancing HIV research, I was responsible for creating and implementing the entire communication and social media strategy from the ground up, with a primary focus on Instagram. I designed and managed the visual branding, planned and created 3 to 4 posts per week, and organized interactive activities such as LIVE interviews and special events.
Starting from zero, I successfully built the Instagram account to hundreds of followers within a year, a significant achievement given the project's challenges. The stigma associated with HIV and the reluctance of many individuals to engage with such channels due to concerns about revealing their serological status posed substantial obstacles. Despite these difficulties, the campaign effectively raised awareness of CORIS’s mission, disseminated crucial information about HIV, and promoted ongoing research, while fostering a highly engaged and supportive community.

Stepping Stones focuses on providing high-quality education and support to children in rural and underserved areas, helping them to build a brighter future through various educational programs and initiatives.
My role involved capturing impactful images that highlighted the organization's work and the positive changes it brings to the communities it serves.
